Health Insurance

Georgetown University requires that you be fully covered, while enrolled in the MS-ESM program as an eligible student (new window)The following information provides you with an overview of the program structure. Students who are eligible for insurance in the fall are automatically charged for the Premier Plan (new window). Students who already have coverage that meets the University’s requirements (new window) may waive the Premier Plan by supplying documentation of required insurance coverage. In order to make the most informed decision, please review the Checklist for Health Insurance Coverage (new window) before waiving the Premier Plan.

Incoming MS-ESM students who meet the Premier Plan eligibility requirements will receive a fall charge on their student account: one annual to be determined charge for coverage beginning August 15,  2022 (annual cost for 2021 was $2,965). Open Enrollment and waiver instructions will be emailed to your Georgetown email address upon the insurance charges posting to your student account during the summer. Coverage for spouses and children is also available.

Vaccinations and Immunizations

Mandatory immunizations and health screenings are based on District of Columbia Law as well as guidance from the CDC and the American College Health Association. All students under age 26 to provide documentation of vaccination or immunity from Diptheria, Pertussis, Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Meningitis. All incoming students, regardless of age, are screened for tuberculosis (TB).

Incoming students must enter immunization and TB screening information, as well as submit required health documentation, through the Georgetown University and Health Information Database Portal. More information can be found on the Student Health Services website.

All students are also currently required to submit documentation of COVID-19 vaccination via the GU360 (Georgetown 360) site or app
