Washington also prides itself on leadership in sustainability, being the first LEED Platinum City in the world, according to the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

This includes 35 associations, policy groups, and advocacy organizations that focus specifically on sustainability. The concentration of power, influence, and opportunities available in the District is unmatched in other cities, and the position of Georgetown’s MS-ESM program within this environment is unique when compared with other programs.
