Benedikt Jaenecke

Benedikt joins the MS-ESM program with a rich portfolio of international experiences and a deep commitment to environmental sustainability. His journey began with early encounters with pollution while growing up in Shanghai, propelling him to work for climate solutions in Germany, Spain, and Thailand. A native of Germany, Benedikt graduated from Zeppelin University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, Politics, and Economics. He enhanced his understanding of the economic aspects of climate change through his work experience at the venture capital firm “La Famiglia” in Berlin, where he contributed to funding environmental startups, and at Siam Digital Lending in Bangkok, where he helped develop an electric motorcycle battery-swapping network. Through the MS-ESM program at Georgetown, Benedikt hopes to acquire an academic and practical US perspective on climate change and ESG, further preparing him to lead impactful change in the environmental sector.
