Katie joins the MS-ESM program after three years at the Cadmus Group, an environmental consulting firm. She first worked primarily as a consultant to the EPA Office of Groundwater and Drinking Water, coordinating climate risk assessments with major water utilities across the U.S. Most recently, she has worked as a consultant to the U.S. Agency for International Development on environmental and social impact assessments. There, she conducted fieldwork and desk reviews to support the environmentally responsible implementation of development projects. Prior to her work experience, Katie earned her B.A. in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Political Science and Sociology from Boston College. Working in international development helped her notice the need for cross-sectoral solutions. Katie was drawn to the interdisciplinary, collaborative cohort model of learning offered in the MS-ESM degree, hoping to develop business principles to better communicate sustainability goals. By combining her work experience with her studies in the environment, she aims to support companies from an integrated viewpoint of science and management.
